In one of the episodes, he cleverly wriggles out in a situation where, on the orders of his mistress, he solves the dilemma with the marriage of a servant - the meek washerwoman Tatyana and the drunkard shoemaker Kapiton. Gavrila understands that the dumb Gerasim is not indifferent to the poor woman, and this task is not easy for him.
