Geographical location of Vietnam, relief.

The nature of Vietnam is formed by its location in the subtropical and tropical zones, in the monsoon climate strip, various terrain, narrow elongation along the coast of the warm South China sea.

The length of the coastline is 3260 km. More than 3/4 territories occupy mountains, plateau and plateaus. Vietnam also owns islands and archipelagoes. From neighboring states, Vietnam is separated by mountain ranges.

From the northern border of Vietnam to the south-east, the Hoanglenson Ridge extended. It forms the watershed of the Hongha rivers (red) and yes. It belongs to the highest mountain Indochyan fanpan (3143 m). West to the border with Laos are lower parallel ridges. R. Chongha's right tributaries crossing the Hoanglenson Ridge are very narrow valleys. In the rainy time of year, landslides, stonepads and villages occur.
South of the 20th parallels along the border with Laos and Cambodia, the longest mountain range of Vietnam Chiongshon stretched out, which is translated and means "long mountains". It has steep oriental and stepped falling western slopes. The highest point of the ridge, Silayleng mountain (2711 m), is located on the border with Laos. The most extensive plateau of the southern Chonegshon is united under the general name of Taneguen. With this plateau, they take the beginning of the rivers belonging to the Mekong pool or flowing directly to the ocean.

Animal and vegetable world of nature Vietnam

Forests grow in mountainous areas up to 700 m above sea level in the north and up to 1300 m in the south. These are tropical evergreen forests (jungle), distinguished by a variety of flora and fauna. In the jungle, there are many precious trees such as iron, red wood, brown (Lim), black (GU), aromatic tree species (sandals), bamboo and other species that serve as an excellent building material for the production of furniture and high articles. In Vietnamese jungle, many types of medicinal plants grow: ginseng, star anise, cinnamon, cardamom and others.

The animal world of Vietnam is rich and diverse. Antelopes, tigers and leopards, panthers and wild cats, wild bulls and deers, lemurs and monkeys, as well as various views of the bears live in the jungle. There are elephants, rhinos. The forests of Vietnam inhabit the birds of more than 400 species, from peacocks and parrots to Phezanov and Orlov. Many snakes, pythons, lizards and other reptiles.

Slightly more than ten years ago, unknown animals and fish were discovered in the forests and reservoirs of Vietnam. In 1992, scientists came across the Sola Forest Cow, the largest mammal detected over the past 50 years. Then one type of rhino was discovered, which was considered extinct, three types of deer, 63 species of vertebrates living on land, and 45 species of fish.
Now in Vietnam there are approximately a hundred tigers (two times less than 10 years ago), 76 wild elephants (in 1980 there were one and a half thousand) and less than ten rhinos. The crocodiles, according to the data of the Ministry of Agriculture of Vietnam, did not remain in the rivers of the country. They are only in zoos and farms.
Vietnamese tigers belong to the Indochian type of Tigris (Panthera Tigris Corbetti). Before they in large quantities lived in all the little-fledged forestlines of Vietnam. A significant drop in the population of tigers is caused by poaching. For their skins, teeth and bones in large cities give big money.
One of the least affected by the human activity is the province of Duck Lac (Dak Lak). Here, wild elephants often ruin the fields of local residents.

Natural plantations of rare plants are reduced. Recently, 63 such plants were found in the central province of Thua Thien-hue, among them - Choc Mau (Salacia chinensis), liana, substances of which limit the reproduction of cancer cells in the body. CHOC MAU grows back in Bach Ma National Park and on Mount Kim Phung in the same province.
