What is this mysterious "IQ Level Test"?
All people are different. Therefore, it is not surprising when one person has a more developed level of intelligence in comparison with another. Each of us has a certain idea of our capabilities. But how do you measure them accurately? In this case, in most developed countries of the world, it is the IQ test, expressed in points, that comes to the rescue.
Translated from English, the abbreviation IQ means "intelligence quotient". This indicator is a quantitative assessment of the level of intelligence of an individual in comparison with the same indicator belonging to the average person of the same age as the subject. It is possible to determine Aykyu by passing the tests presented above, which (as the experts point out), although they do not assess the individual's knowledge, but determine his thinking abilities. Our IQ tests are free chances to find out how developed your intelligence is!
The structure of each Ikyu test is a list of questions that are both simpler and more complex. The subject is invited to cope with tasks related to determining the quality of spatial and logical thinking in humans. There are very different variations of questions. As practice shows, the higher the experience in passing these tests, the better the results. Eysenck's test has gained the greatest popularity among similar tasks “on IQ”.
Scientists note that half of people have IQ in the range of 90-110 points, the rest are either below 90 or above 110 (approximately 25% each). According to American researchers, the average score for this test among graduates of higher educational institutions is 105 points. For excellent students, it is 130-140. It is believed that work on improving mental performance is necessary when the IQ is below 70.
V last years tests for the definition of "Ikyu" have gained incredible popularity among the entire population of the planet. They are used everywhere: for admission to universities and colleges, for job interviews, for passing driver's license exams, and so on. Russia also did not stand aside. The population of our country is fully interested in knowing the level of their own intelligence, which is why many residents try to learn as much as possible about tests to determine intellectual abilities and are not averse to passing them. A big plus of such intelligence tests is their availability. If you search the Internet for IQ tests, you will certainly find free ones. Moreover, not all of them will be competently composed. The uniqueness of our site is that we give the opportunity not only to pass a free IQ test, but to try to pass the test, which was compiled by an experienced specialist. So we have real IQ tests.
It is worth noting that the average IQ of the population of a given country depends on the efficiency of the state machine and the level of the gross domestic product. In addition, a study was conducted that found a relationship between the factor of public intelligence and the average results on the USE (foreign analogue of the SAT).
IQ tests: how they are built
There are other variations of the questions. As practice shows, the higher the experience of passing these tests, the better the results. The most famous among such tasks is the Eysenck test. Good accuracy is demonstrated by tests bearing the names of their creators: D. Wexler, J. Raven, R. Amthauer and RB Kettell. At the same time, to date, no one has yet introduced a single standard to which the existing IQ tests would adhere.
All tests are divided into age groups in order to give an accurate assessment of the intellectual development of a person, corresponding to his age. In other words, the results of IQ tests can be the same - for example, a child of 11 years old and a master of mathematics. This is all because at their age they are equally developed. If you take Eysenck's test, then the creator developed it in order to determine the level of intelligence in people over 18 years old.
IQ history and what influences it
Back in 1912, the German scientist Wilhelm Stern for the first time presented to the general public the notion "IQ" which was unusual at that time. Carrying out his research, he turned his attention to the shortcomings inherent in one of the indicators of the Binet scales, namely, mental age. To determine an accurate assessment of an individual's intelligence, Stern suggested dividing the indicators of mental age by real age (also called chronological), and taking the remainder of this operation.
The first appearance of the term IQ dates back to 1916, when it was used in the Stanford-Binet scale. But today (perhaps due to the greatly increased interest among the population in IQ indicators) there are several other scales, the validity of which has not been proven. Therefore, it is now quite difficult to compare the results that different tests demonstrate. Therefore, psychologists often recommend referring to classical tests to determine the coefficient of intelligence development. These are the tests we have selected for you.
Reasons Affecting IQ
Naturally, one of the main reasons that have a serious impact on the level of IQ is heredity. The main emphasis in the ongoing research to determine the relationship between these two indicators has been placed on children. The results of these studies were quite a wide variation in the indications: some scientists stated that IQ depends on the available genes by less than half; while others even cited data reporting almost one hundred percent dependence. The rest that could affect the results of tests for determining IQ is environment and the situation, as well as all kinds of errors inherent in such measurements. That is, according to such studies, it turns out that the level of IQ largely depends on inherited genes.
Another reason that affects IQ scores is individual genes (brain activity an ordinary person depends on about 17 thousand genes). Studies show that individual genes affect an individual's existing IQ level, but in fact, such an effect does not have a strong effect. This dependence, revealed in the course of the research, turned out to be at the level of statistical error.
At the moment, research has begun to find differences in the genome in people with high and low IQ levels. If someone can figure out the genetic causes of "braininess", then perhaps a remedy will appear that will increase the level of IQ in a person. States possessing such knowledge will move ahead faster in terms of economic and technological development.
The third reason that can affect the level of IQ is the environment. Of course, everything that is around a person (especially the family) influences his development. In the course of research, many factors of such dependence have been identified. They included the family's income, the size of the house and its price, the developing relationship between all family members, and so on. This dependence is characterized by a coefficient equal to 0.25-0.35. But as a person grows up, this influence gradually decreases until it reaches zero at about adulthood (the research data concerned only a complete family, where there are two parents and two children).
Improper nutrition can also tell on the level of IQ development. Thus, recent studies have shown that eating fish products by a pregnant woman has a beneficial effect on the intellectual development of her unborn child.
Another study, affecting about 13 thousand people, determined that breastfeeding also positively affects the intelligence of the infant. However, it should be noted that immediately after publication this study he was criticized. The reasons for the scientific "attack" were an incorrectly conducted analysis of the data obtained, a complete disregard for existing theories.
Differences "Aykyu" by human groups
According to most experts, on average, there is no particular difference in the level of intelligence development between men and women belonging to the same age group. But it is in the male population that the most striking variation in this indicator is observed: that is, there are a lot of men with a high level of intelligence and also many of those with a sufficiently low IQ. In addition, this indicator is expressed in women and men in slightly different ways. This is especially noticeable after five years. At this age, boys begin to show superiority over the beautiful half of humanity in terms of spatial intelligence and manipulation. Girls are better at verbal functions.
Leadership in the field of mathematical abilities is also shifting to men. One American researcher came to the conclusion that for every 13 men with excellent mathematical skills, there is only one woman equal to them.
Racial differences
Numerous studies conducted to identify differences in the average level of IQ among residents of the United States of America led to the following conclusion: among representatives of the African American population, this indicator was equal to 85 points, among Hispanics - 89, white - 103, Asian - 106, and Jewish - 113.
Wherein average level IQ, if we consider the data on tests half a century ago, shows some changes. So, today the IQ of the Negroid race in 1995 corresponds to the IQ of white people who lived in 1945. Therefore, it seems impossible to "blame" everything on the genetic characteristics of people.
One should not sweep aside such an important factor as the influence of society on the development of intelligence. This is especially noticeable in orphans. For example, in the same United States, the IQ level of children who were raised by the representatives of the white race is about 10% higher than that of those who lived in a black family. And in the UK, the difference is even more interesting: in boarding schools, black children have a higher IQ score than their white peers.
In the course of research, scientists have found a pattern consisting in the existing difference in the average IQ level between residents different countries... According to certain data, this indicator is influenced by the current size of GDP, practical use democratic foundations, crime and birth rates, the percentage between believers and atheists. In developing countries, in addition to the reasons given, it also affects the average IQ level and poor-quality nutrition, coupled with numerous diseases. In this regard, we ask you to familiarize yourself with the interesting map ...
Relationship between health, age and IQ
A properly composed diet, especially in the early stages of human development, has a beneficial effect on the development of intellectual abilities. An example is the factor of iodine deficiency in the body: if it is present, the average IQ is reduced by 12 points. Those who have a sufficiently high IQ score live longer and get sick less often.
IQ acts as a measure of a person's intellectual ability, which peaks at age 26. Then they gradually decrease.
The IQ of an adult, to a greater extent than that of children, is determined by genetic inheritance. In the latter, this indicator is influenced by the environment. Some children due to certain life characteristics at first it is ahead of peers in terms of intelligence, but over time, their performance levels out.
School successes
Representatives of the American Psychological Association noted that children with high IQ test scores have a much better grasp of the material taught in school than those with lower scores. This correlation reaches 0.5. Tests for determining the level of intelligence allow you to pre-select naturally gifted children in order to teach them according to a separate, accelerated program.
Income, scrime propensity and IQ
Part of the research devoted to the influence of IQ level on human activity shows that higher intelligence increases the productivity of an individual - and his income increases accordingly. Moreover, this indicator does not depend on the social environment of a person, including his family.
The American Psychological Association noted in one of its reports that the level of intelligence has little to do with a person's propensity to commit crimes. The correlation in this case is only 0.2. It is important to note here that causal relationships are indirect. That is, poor performance in school is not always explained by a low level of IQ, but it often affects the possibility of a person becoming a criminal.
Arthur Jensen cites information according to which the highest percentage of crimes falls on people with IQs ranging from 70 to 90 points.
Scientific achievements, etc.ore activity
According to some studies, it can be concluded that success in the scientific field of activity is more dependent on such character traits as purposefulness and thinking outside the box. But Dr. Eysenck cites other data, according to which the level of intelligence of successful scientists is lower than that of their colleagues who received Nobel Prize... The average scores on IQ tests were 166 points. At the same time, some of the scientists demonstrated the maximum possible level equal to 177 points. Spatial IQ was 137 according to the scientist, although at a younger age it should have been higher. And the mathematical average IQ is 154.
Two scientists, Frank Schmidt and John Hunter, have come to the conclusion that with the same amount of experience, the person with the higher IQ will be more productive. As the researchers note, the development of intelligence affects all types of human activity, but its level differs depending on the chosen field of activity. From this we can conclude that work, which provides for long-term brain work, will not be available to those with low IQ. And at the same time, activities related to physical activity will not be seriously affected by the size of this coefficient.

It allows you to determine your level of ability to learn, understand, form concepts, use information, apply logic and reason, in comparison with the population. It speaks volumes and can influence non-normality characters in society, be they interpersonal, such as isolation, rejection and withdrawal, or intellectual, such as ease or difficulty in performing intellectual activities. On the other hand, it can also explain the successes achieved by individuals more in a simple way than other people.
The effectiveness of this test
The IQ test offered by us was developed by a research group of specialists in the field of psychology. It is used all over the world by millions of users and new ones are added every day. The statistics established on the basis of the general results allow to check its reliability in relation to the IQ scales presented by the Gaussian curve.
Super-talented
People with very high levels IQ, in comparison with the average (> 130), also called "super gifted", have, as a rule, more opportunities for intellectual activity than others. The most famous characteristics of the super-talented are:
- Curiosity and thirst for knowledge: They ask many questions and are able to acquire knowledge on their own.
- Self-improvement, the need to do something with precision and excellence.
- Fear of oneself, of one's own capabilities, the consequences of thoughts and emotions overwhelming him.
- Interest that becomes obsessive in certain topics.
- Hypersensitivity is often invisible from the outside.
- Prolonged concentration of attention and concentration.
- Metacognitive awareness: They are adept at identifying and using plans, concepts, and strategies to solve problems.

Our statistics
We accompany each IQ result with individual statistics, according to which candidates are ranked based on several parameters (population, age, education level, field of knowledge).
Attempts to express human intelligence by numerical value have been known since the beginning of the twentieth century. In 1912, the German scientist William Stern first introduced such a concept as the IQ. This idea turned out to be very timely and was already used in 1916 in an earlier system of intellectual calculus, known as the Stanford-Binet scale.
These days, IQ tests have become very popular and relevant. The abbreviation IQ itself is correctly deciphered as intelligence quotient, which translated from English means intelligence quotient. Accordingly, the IQ test determines the level of intelligence of a person, based on the obtained coefficient, in the calculation of which his age is also taken into account. The most popular is the Hans Jurgen Eysenck test.
The mathematical formula for IQ is a fraction multiplied by 100, the numerator of which is the person's mental age, and the denominator is his chronological age. Currently, the fourth edition of the IQ measurement scale is used in psychodiagnostics.
Today, many companies are engaged in IQ testing, testing employees applying for a particular vacancy. Even children can take an intelligence test. Thus, the IQ test helps to determine the ability to perform certain tasks by people who have passed the test.
An interesting fact is that this test is not any kind of erudition exam and does not require special knowledge, but rather reveals the ingenuity and ingenuity of a person, which is intelligence in essence.
The proposed test consists of forty questions, which must be answered in exactly thirty minutes. At the same time, there are no pauses, time-outs and breaks. Since the IQ test is an important indicator, for its purity, the conditions for all subjects are exactly the same. At the same time, more inattentive people will have less chances of high IQ, which, in fact, is quite fair.
When passing testing, it is best to skip questions that are not immediately resolved. It is not difficult to calculate that on average the program allocates 45 seconds for each question. This time is, of course, conditional, since rarely anyone succeeds in solving correctly all forty problems, however, if you linger too long on difficult questions, then the chances of not having time to reach the tasks that are potentially solved by the subjects increases.
It so happens that more simple task takes longer to solve complex. This can occur as a result individual characteristics of the person being tested, and his IQ will be reflected subsequently. Skipping intractable problems, the test taker returns to them again, but having already answered all the "easy" questions. This approach is more rational and, therefore, effective.
It is interesting! It turns out that intelligence tests and intelligence tests were first developed ... in the 7th century by Chinese employers. At that time, based on the results, officials were divided into three classes: a public service official (one of a hundred contestants), a mandarin (one of a hundred public service officials), and finally an inspector (one of a hundred mandarins).
Attention! Before passing the test, it is recommended to conduct an intellectual warm-up: count out loud from one hundred to one, backwards, or, as soon as possible, remember and name 20 exotic male and female names. After such a warm-up, you will feel that you are ready to tackle even more complex problems.

IQ is an assessment of the ability to think and reason. IQ scores are a standardized way to compare this ability with most people who take this test. The actual IQ score may be in the range of the score scored. The fact is that it is extremely difficult to obtain an IQ estimate with high accuracy, since there are many external factors that could have a negative impact on your account. For example, you are distracted by something on this day. In addition, IQ is not a measure of all a person's abilities and skills. Try to take the test and get the maximum number of points.
