Ege poor results. How USE scores differ by region: student performance and regional inequality
Rosobrnadzor summed up the main and additional stage of the exam 2017 year. In general, statistics show that this year's graduates coped with exams more successfully than last year. About 620 thousand people took part in the exam.
The number of poor students has halved. This, for example, happened in the history exam. In other subjects, the numbers differ, but there are indeed fewer unsatisfactory jobs: in biology - by 0.3%, in chemistry - by 1.1%, in literature - by 1.5%, in physics - by 2%, in social studies - by 4%, in foreign languages - by 25%.
The number of participants who scored from 80 to 100 points on the 2017 USE increased by 2%.
Rosobrnadzor does not lose sight of the talented graduates who managed to get the highest score in three subjects at once. This year there were six such guys: two from Yekaterinburg and one each from St. Petersburg, Penza, Perm and Kurgan. In 2016, there were only three three-hundred-point employees: from Olenegorsk (Murmansk region), Kemerovo and Kirov.
The number of violations related to cheating has decreased by a quarter compared to the previous year. However, it is not only the graduates who "get it", but also the teachers. For example, in Ingushetia, a school director was fired for trying to help students on the exam. In all regions, teachers are punctually dismissed for accidentally ringing the phone during the Unified State Exam, as well as for the fact that they "overlooked" the students who brought their phone to the exam. Such cases of demonstrative reprisals (even against honored teachers with twenty years of experience) sometimes cause bewilderment.
But as for the scandals, this year they occurred not at the time of passing the exam, but at the appeal. Across the country, USE participants complain about gross violations of the rules of the appeal.
In some regions, the conflict commission made a decision to change the points even before the start of the procedure itself, and the graduates were notified after the fact (without the right to appeal, since all the points had already been entered in the final document; naturally, there was no speech about the graduate's signature next to the final grade and speech did not go). In other cases, the organizers obstructed both the filing of an appeal and the personal presence of the USE participant at the meeting (for example, "forgetting" to name the date or deliberately not allowing the documents to be signed for the attendance). Graduates also complained that their arguments were not taken into account, and they refused to file a written justification for the appeal to the case. The experts tried their best to maintain the original score, referring to non-existent assessment criteria and finding fault with trifles that do not affect the scoring at all. All this caused a wave of indignation among the graduates and their families. Appeals to the USE hotline also did not bring results, since at the opposite end the upset parents were told that "the procedure for holding a meeting of the conflict commission will not be challenged."

Basic information

The head of Rosobrnadzor said that due to systematic work with weak schools, there is a decrease in the number of participants who have not overcome the minimum threshold in all subjects.
In 2017, the statistics of those taking the exam counted 703 thousand people, of which 617 thousand are students of the current year. 391 thousand students passed specialized mathematics.
The 2017 USE statistics for Russia also show an improvement in results. Average score in profile mathematics increased by 1 point and amounted to 47.1. The number of students who did not master the subject decreased by 1%.
Statistics on average USE scores show that of the compulsory subjects, mathematics is the hardest for students. For the past five years, the average score has been below 49 points. The maximum result was in 2013 - 48.7. In the Russian language, the best results were recorded in 2016. The average score was 68 points.

The statistics of the Unified State Exam for schools gives the first place to the Lyceum of the HSE Research Institute. The second place is taken by lyceum №1535. Center # 57 closes the top three in terms of the number of graduates.
Indicators by region
The USE statistics by region show different results. The economic condition affects the level of knowledge of students. Not many people can afford to study with a tutor. In some regions, schools are less well funded. Therefore, qualified teachers leave from there.
This trend is observed not only in Russia. For example, according to the results of ZNO in Ukraine, only 28.4% of city school graduates have high level knowledge. Whereas in rural areas the figure is 8%. The statistics of the USE results show that the economic and educational characteristics determine the final scores by 64% in Russian and by 53% in mathematics.
The lowest grades are received by students from schools Of the Far East... Profiled mathematics is good in the Perm Territory and Udmurtia. But the highest scores in the Russian language are received by graduates of the Orenburg region. Good marks are also received in St. Petersburg and Perm. Almost 750 thousand people were registered to participate in the main period of the USE-2019, of which 662 thousand are graduates of the current year. During the main period of the Unified State Exam, 5,713 examination points (PES), about 51 thousand audiences were involved. - Since 2019, graduates have the right to choose only one level of the Unified State Exam in mathematics (basic or specialized) for passing, but this level may be changed upon retaking.
- Since 2019, graduates of previous years are not entitled to participate in the exam in mathematics basic level.
- The popularity of natural science subjects has grown. So, in 2019, an increase in the number of USE participants in biology it was 25 thousand compared to last year, in chemistry - about 16 thousand, in physics - about 13 thousand participants. Also, in comparison with 2018, the level of interest in computer science and ICT has noticeably increased (an increase in the number of participants by 27 thousand people), English language(an increase of 18 thousand people) and history (an increase of 15 thousand).
- In 2019 for the first time passed the exam on Chinese language, 289 people applied for participation in it. Only 75 people passed the exam on time. Muscovite Anastasia Andryunina is the only one of all who has passed the USE in Chinese by 100 points, and is going to enter the RUDN University.
- 300 points on the exam were scored by a resident of Seversk named Putin. Graduate Alexander Putin passed the maximum score in Russian, mathematics and physics.
- Two participants of the Unified State Exam-2019 were able to gain 400 bonuses based on the results of four exams. 30 participants became 300-point... 445 people typed 200 credits on two exam.
- 812 people were removed from the exam for various violations, including for the presence of mobile phones (355 remote) and cheat sheets (323 remote)

- Elective subjects can only be retaken the next year. In 2018, 478 people were removed from the exam for phones, 463 for cribs. - The total number of violations this year has decreased by more than one and a half times compared to the previous year.
- In 2017, as in 2016, the most popular elective subjects were social studies (chosen by 54% of the USE participants), physics (26%), history (21%), biology (20%), chemistry (13%).
- 2.6% (15,878 people) did not receive a certificate based on the results of the Unified State Exam.
