Biography BARATYNSKY Evgeny Abramovich - poet, representative of the Pushkin galaxy. From an old Polish family that settled in the 17th century. in Russia. Baratynsky received his upbringing initially in the village, under the supervision of an Italian uncle, then in a St. Petersburg French boarding house and a page building. As a result of a serious offense - theft of a fairly large amount of money from a friend's father - he was expelled from the corps with a ban on entering the service forever. This punishment greatly shocked Baratynsky (he fell ill with a serious nervous breakdown and was close to suicide) and left an imprint on his character and subsequent fate. In order to remove the grave stigma, Baratynsky entered a private in one of the St. Petersburg regiments. Baratynsky served as the lower rank for seven years (of which five years in Finland), and only in 1825 was he promoted to officer. After the production, he retired, in subsequent years he lived in Moscow, then on his estates. He died during a trip abroad in Naples, 44 years old.

Creative way. The first poem by Baratynsky was published in 1819. In his class inferiority, Baratynsky felt completely alone, not belonging to any state, forced to envy his serfs. The crack that formed during the years of soldier's service between Baratynsky and his class was never filled until the end of his life While experiencing his position more acutely than Pushkin, Baratynsky, at the same time, being the son of wealthy landowners, taking a large dowry for his wife, is firmly connected with the economic roots of the nobility. The similarity of the social position of Baratynsky and Pushkin (possibly) explains the parallelism of the main lines of their work: both began by imitating the dominant models of the beginning of the century - the elegiac poetry of Batyushkov (see), the elegies of Zhukovsky (see); both passed the stage romantic poem; finally, the last period in the work of both is colored by a distinct realistic style of writing.

Baratynsky and Pushkin "Baratynsky," asserted Pushkin, "belongs to our excellent poets. He is original here, because he thinks ... he thinks in his own way ... while he feels strongly and deeply."

Slide 5

Poetic style But despite the similarity of the basic lines, Baratynsky's poetic style is remarkable for its remarkable originality - "originality". The social isolation of Baratynsky echoed in his work with a sharp individualism, concentrated loneliness, isolation in himself, in his the inner world, the world of "dry sorrow" - hopeless reflections on man and his nature, mankind and his destinies. All these features take Baratynsky out of the circle of poets of the Pushkin galaxy, make his work close and akin to the poetry of the Symbolists. Baratynsky's language is distinguished by a "high" vocabulary, not cluttered only archaic words and phrases, but also characteristic neologisms in an archaic way; solemnly difficult, bizarrely confusing syntax. Extreme laconicism, striving for crystal clear verbal formulations - these are the main features of this style.

"Achilles" Eugene Baratynsky "Achilles" Moisture of Styx tempered Wild power fullness And boiling Achilles To the ancient battle showed Vulnerable only in the heel. Doomed to the supreme struggle, Are you, by your share, Raven with him, spiritual fighter, Son of the font of new days? Was swallowed by her water, Know, by suffering over yourself You gave a full will, And you are one-fifth of yours Unharmed, if you have become it On living faith!

Slide 7

History of creation First published in Sovremennik 1841, vol. XXIII, and included in Twilight. In all editions "Achilles" is attributed to the period 1835-1842; presumably we relate to 1841. Valery Bryusov sees in Achilles, in which Baratynsky “speaks of the need for a modern spiritual warrior to rely on living faith,” the beginning of the path of the last illumination of the soul, the development of which was interrupted by the unexpected death of the poet.

Analysis of the poem Topic: reasoning about the weak and strengths Achilles, their reasons, possibilities of use. Idea: to show us that the most vulnerable spot can become key, important, if we find the right addition to it, rely on this quality, feature.

Muse I am not blinded by my muse: They will not call her a beauty, And the young men, seeing her, will run after her in a crowd of love. To lure with an exquisite dress, I play with the eyes, with brilliant conversation She has no inclination, no gift; But there is a glimpse of the light of Her face amazed by the uncommon expression, Her speeches by the calm simplicity; And he, rather than caustic condemnation, will honor her with careless praise.

CONFIDENCE Do not tempt me unnecessarily By the return of your tenderness: To the disappointed one is alien All the seductions of the old days! I don’t believe in assurances, I don’t believe in love, And I can’t indulge in once again betrayed dreams! Do not multiply my blind melancholy, Do not start a word about the former, And, caring friend, do not disturb the patient In his slumber! I sleep, sleep is sweet to me; Forget old dreams: There is one excitement in my soul, And you will not awaken love. Baratynsky died suddenly on July 29, 1844 in Naples. More than a year later, his body was transported to St. Petersburg and, in the presence of several friends, was buried. Newspapers and magazines of that time hardly responded to his death. Only Belinsky said then: " Thinking man he will always read Baratynsky's poems with pleasure, because he will find a person in them - a subject that is eternally interesting for a person. ”Baratynsky's humanism, his inherent subtlety of psychological analysis, depth of penetration into the contradictions of reality, noble ruthlessness towards himself made his poems close and necessary to our time.
